#68 – Blasted by Ripley

Description

Front: The Alien gets it in the chest, courtesy of Ripley (from the original Alien). Famed illustrator-turned movie artist H.R.Giger created the creature costume out of polyester, rubber, animal meat, real bones, and oysters. The teeth were also made of polyester, but were chrome-plated to give them a metallic shine. “For me the monster is both human and mechanical,” explains Giger. “So giving him steel teeth was a way to convey this two-fold nature.”
