Exciting times for lovers of the Arkham Horror LCG by Fantasy Flight Games. First there was a leaked image of the new revised core, which soon got overshadowed by the announcement of a new cycle with a big change in the distribution model for this game.
Shown in this image are new resource tokens with varying values, and new updated investigator/locations artwork. Presumably the new core set will contain full playsets of cards so starting players are not “forced” to buy 2 core-sets anymore.
New expansion
In Edge of the Earth players will be traveling to Antarctica to save the world (again!). This new expansion is also changing the distrbution model for this game. FFG will stop producing the Deluxe expansions and Mythos packs and will instead roll them all up in 2 types of expansion boxes. The campaign expansion will contain everything you need to play a full campaign consisting of 4 to 10 scenario’s. That’s quite a range of scenario’s, and it’s not clear yet how this will work in practice.
In the Edge of the Earth campaign expansion, one to four investigators embark on a dangerous expedition consisting of anywhere between four and ten scenarios. Who in their team will make it back alive? Who will perish in the icy depths? And what will they discover in the phantasmal depths of their own madness?

Taking a closer look at the “Treacherous Path” card from the announcement, you will notice a new Snowy Chaos token mentioned. These will be mixed into the chaos bag.
Also pictured on the backside of the box are some other type of tokens which could be new keys, level markers or anything else for that matter.
There will be a total of 40 new tokens in this expansion!

Then there is the other expansion, the Investigator one. This boxed set will contain 5 investigators (250 cards), including fan-favorite Norman Withers! The guy not pictured below is Bob Jenkins, as he is featured on the box.
